Better Late than Never

So do you want to hear about rain and wind, conspiracy theories, the rugby world cup, the inadequacies of the British house selling system, or Big Fat Yorkshire Weddings? No contest.

We arrived at our country house hotel, Tickton Grange near Beverley in Yorkshire, as part of our tiki tour of old haunts near our house. We've stayed there before and it's a small, quiet, peaceful place (with fabulous food - see Ann's posting on Trip Advisor) except on Saturdays when they have weddings (and are booked up two years in advance). Now I have no probelms with marriage, I did it myself once. But the hotel was fully booked with guests staying over, which means you can start celebrating the joyous day at about 2 pm and finish around 4am. It also means that everyone can get dressed inappropriately twice. it means you can wander aroun in silly, illl fitting suits, or dresses that make you wonder for several hours
